Today, it is the headquarters for the Fred Heutte Foundation, a horticulral group which boasts a marvelous Herb Knot Garden on the grounds.

Info: BB-64 is an Iowa-class battleship, the second ship of the US Navy named in honor of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. Built at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard in Philadelphia, PA and launched on Dec 7, 1943. Last decommissioned in September 1991, having earned a total of six battle stars for service in WW II and Korea, and a Navy Unit Commendation for service during the Gulf War. The ship currently functions as a museum ship operated by the Hampton Roads Naval Museum at Nauticus, The National Maritime Center in Norfolk.

Info: 101-WAL524, Lightships were built to help mariners avoid dangerous shoals or enter safely into harbors at night. Years ago, lights were fixed to masts of ships that anchored for months in strategic locations off the coastline. Commissioned in 1915, it has since been restored to its original condition. In 1989, it was designated a National Historic Landmark. Visitors can board the vessel and see how the men of the Lightship Service lived during their many months at sea.
