We took the dogs and our bikes and bike trailer to Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge in Virginia Beach. We walked the swamp trails first, then the seaside trail. We walked along the beach and saw several horseshoe crab shells and a very odd beached sea creature. We aren't sure what it was exactly, but it looked like a cross between a jelly fish and a mantaray. We wondered if a jellyfish attached itself to the top of the mantaray and killed it. We're not sure, but it wasn't soft and jelly-like, like a jellyfish, but it wasn't a solid color like a mantaray.

After we got back from the beach, we intended to ride our bikes with the dogs riding in the bike trailer, but the park ranger told us the park gates would be closing at 5:30 and it was already 5:00 by the time we got back to the truck, so we decided to go somewhere else to ride. We drove past the other public beach park, but it was already closed too. We ended up taking a slow drive through the neighborhood along Sandpiper Road, daydreaming about what it would be like to live in some of those unique beachfront homes. We never found anywhere we could park the truck to go for a bike ride, so we headed home.

We stopped at Subway to pick up dinner on the way home. I got a flatbread veggie patty wrap and Steph got a flatbread grilled chicken wrap and we both got Baked Lays ($10.77 total). We're so exhausted and the dogs are pooped! We're gonna relax on the couch and watch the Super Bowl and The Office 1 hour special for the rest of the evening.
